MAG212 CYBER · Stay Safe

Protect yourself and your family in 10 minutes.

Plain-language tools to spot scams, build strong passwords and lock down your accounts. No sign-up, and nothing you type here ever leaves your device.

🔑 How strong is your password?

Type a password to see roughly how long it would take to crack. Try a made-up example similar to yours rather than your real one.

Start typing…

🔒 Private by design: this checker runs entirely in your browser. Your password is never sent, stored or logged.

    🎣 Scam or legit?

Six real-world style messages. Decide, then see the clues.

🚩 Seven red flags of a scam

If a message has even one of these, stop and verify through a channel you already trust.

    ⏰Urgency or threats

“Your account closes in 24 hours.” Pressure is designed to stop you thinking.

    💳Unusual payment

Gift cards, crypto, wire transfers or payment apps. Real organisations don’t ask for these.

    🔗Look-alike links

“paypa1.com” or “amazon-support.help”. Hover or long-press to see the real address.

    🔐Asks for codes

No real company will ever ask for your one-time code or password. Ever.

    🎁Too good to be true

Prizes you didn’t enter, refunds you didn’t expect, jobs that pay for little work.

    🤫“Keep it secret”

Being told not to tell your bank or family is a classic manipulation tactic.

    🎭A familiar voice or face

AI can clone voices and video. Agree a family “safe word” for emergencies.

    ✅ Your 10-minute security checklist

Tick each one as you do it. Your progress is saved on this device only.

🆘 Think you’ve been scammed? Act now

Speed matters. Do these in order.

    1 · Call your bank

Use the number on your card. Ask them to stop or reverse the payment and freeze the card.

    2 · Change passwords

Start with email, then any account that shares the same password. Turn on two-step verification.

    3 · Disconnect the device

If you installed something or gave remote access, disconnect from the internet and get help.

    4 · Report it

US: reportfraud.ftc.gov and ic3.gov. UK: Action Fraud. Elsewhere: your national cyber or police agency.
